Welcome to Melissa's Coaching Studio!

Love of learning, sharing knowledge, and book culture are my cornerstones. This is why I help writers, scholars and academics like you integrate your publishing and career goals into one cohesive, forward-thinking strategy that will produce results and revenue.

During my publishing career at HarperCollins, Van Nostrand Reinhold, Routledge, and McGraw-Hill International, I had the privilege to work with distinguished scholars, accomplished as well as first-time authors, and culinary artists, all with one goal: create, package, market, and sell the best book possible in order to reach the largest audience possible.

Your Challenge

How do you build your brand, expand your platform, and earn tangible income from your writing and research activities, especially if you are not on a tenure track or employed in a full-time position?

I Work With Clients Who Want To:

1. Revise their dissertation into a marketable academic or trade book

2. Build a portfolio career comprised of writing, teaching and public speaking opportunities

3. Explore career options in order to get a job that is commensurate with talent, expertise and skills

4. Create workflow processes for monetizing content

5. Cultivate readers and media contacts

A 3-Dimensional Career Strategist

Book Publishing: As an editor, publisher and editorial director, my career expertise is evaluating book proposals, acquiring manuscripts, using technology applications, and leading teams.

Teaching/Executive Training: As a faculty leader in publishing education at Pace University, I co-led executive training programs. An early adopter of digital platforms, I delivered graduate-level courses in trade publishing, academic publishing, marketing, and book sales and distribution methods.

Certified Professional Co-Active Coaching: Combined with my publishing and teaching experience, coaching expertise allows me to provide clients with constructive feedback and discussion.

"Melissa is to me what Theo was to Vincent. You can count on her support during your toughest moments."
