The Alchemy of Shedding What No Longer Serves

How Releasing Burdens Opens the Door for Renewal in Everyday Life

As trees shed their leaves, we, too, can release what no longer serves us. Trees lose their leaves because of changes in daylight and temperature. The chlorophyll breaks down, and the green leaves transform into a blaze of color.

Yesterday, a Jewish friend taught me about celebrating Rosh Hashanah by tossing pebbles or leaves into water as a way of letting go. When we stop feeding habits, thoughts, and beliefs that no longer serve who we are becoming, we create space for what awaits us. My friend explained Rosh Hashanah means “the head of the year.”

So, this afternoon, I created a leaf circle ritual in Central Park. It is an uplifting and empowering practice. In the video, I offer tips to help you get started and/or inspire you to create a different practice.

We are experiencing the Annual Solar Eclipse, a New Moon in Libra, and Rosh Hashanah. This is the perfect moment for new beginnings in a world filled with constant demands and responsibilities.

Enjoy!
